Innocence Found

Many girls and boys will be sexually abused prior to their 18th birthday. The offenders will typically be someone they already know – perhaps a relative, friend, neighbor or one of the many volunteers or professionals who come in contact with them every day. Few offenders are caught because they work just as hard deceiving adults as they do seducing and silencing their child victims.

The Innocence Found ministry will draw in the church and non-church community of Salem to raise awareness of this important issue so we can protect our children and, more importantly, to give all an opportunity to receive Christ and heal in Him.

Community Quilting

This ministry was established as a result of a single community event in 2005 known as the “quilt-a-thon” to bring members of the community together to sew quilts and sent to victims of Hurricane Katrina. Utilizing leftover donated materials after making over 200 quilts, the Community Quilting ministry team was born at Salem First Baptist as people from several churches and the community gather to continue the quilt giving to other needy causes such as service men involved in the Iraq War and the local Veterans of Foreign Wars chapter. This ministry provides an excellent opportunity for making new friendships, learning and enjoying the art of quilting.
