History
December 29, 1859, a group of courageous, faith-filled people gathered to start a church. Salem First Baptist church had its first meeting on a Friday, and our first worship gathering was the following Sunday. God has been writing our story ever since. Today we stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us. We honor the gifts we have been given from the past and will seek to be good stewards in the present. (I Corinthians 4:1-5) Our previous members have given to us a love for the good news of Christ, a desire to love and serve the broken and alien in our city, and to reach the world with the news that Christ came to this earth to save them. It is our prayer to be faithful to the one who died for us. Come join us in this grand adventure.
